Most homes have food processors and it’s not really surprising. After all, they make food preparation a lot easier and faster, making them perfect for people who don’t have that much free time to spend in the kitchen.
If you already own one, however, you need to know how to clean a food processor. It’s one way to make sure your appliance last a long time. Below is a quick guide to help you with that.
The first thing you need to do is take the appliance apart. Most units have different pieces and you can take them apart by taking off the top, removing the pusher unit, and then taking out the blades. After that, you can remove the bowl from the motor.
Next, wash the blade. Ideally, you should wash it right after use. This is to keep the blade sharp and prevent it from getting dull. It’s also a good way to prevent food from drying inside.
Take the removable parts and wash them with mild dish soap. You can also let them soak for a couple of minutes to loosen any dried food particles. Avoid using abrasive pads as that can damage the unit.
For the base and motor, simply take a damp cloth and wipe their surfaces. You don’t need to submerge the entire unit in water.
Completely dry the food processor. After that, you can put the pieces back before storing the appliance.
