Simply put a heavy pot of meat inside the oven
The key to slow cooking is proper control of heat. So, if you know how to regulate the oven’s temperature, you have nothing to worry about.
Regarding the cookware, you should use an extra-thick pot. You may either choose a Dutch oven or a casserole. This is a crucial factor because you’ll need perfect heat distribution for softening the meat.
Program the right temperature

First, cook the meat inside the oven for at least eight hours. You may also do it overnight for tougher meats.

However, we don’t recommend leaving your home with the oven turned on. Make sure you’re available to monitor your oven from time to time. As a matter of fact, you shouldn’t leave some slow cookers unattended, too.
When it comes to the temperature, set 250 degrees Fahrenheit for eight-hour cooking. For the overnight version, use 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Before serving the meat, check if its internal temperature is at least 190 degrees Fahrenheit.
